I thought about naming this post, “How Ultra Music Festival Sucks.” Seriously, why can’t Ultra do things like this? These tickets are magnetic card style, the welcome package is full-color glossy and it includes a key-chain, stickers and a pack of seeds. Yes, seriously. A pack of seeds. Hi UMF. Congratulations on your 14th year! You’ve stayed in Miami, gone from 1 day to 3 and people from all around the world come to dance and party with you. That’s pretty awesome. Before this year, things were awkward. Well, it’s still awkward but in a good way. Your weirdness makes the party better [...]

In 2010, I was in Miami for Ultra Music Festival when it was announced that the event was completely sold out. This was the first time that had ever happened. With me, I brought a 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens, a 14-42mm f/3.5 stock zoom lens and a 45-200mm lens for artist photos. On Saturday and Sunday, I had to change batteries around hour 10 [...]

As of this writing, Ultra Music Festival takes place in downtown Miami in 4 days and 18 hours. at 4PM on Friday, 50,000 people will invade the small downtown park and the party continues for three days finally ending Sunday at midnight. It’s my favorite event of the year. Ultra doesn’t turn out so well [...]
